We decided to pack our bags and get out into the Scottish Highlands to get a breath of fresh air.
“One’s destination is never a place but a new way of looking at things” – Henry Miller
And this is exactly what we found. We work with such great natural materials but often loose touch with what they really look and feel like from sitting in our offices. A collective decision was made and we all packed a bag, a Fältovn camping stoves and took to the A9, heading north. We set course for Applecross, going over the Bealach Na Ba (Pass of the Cattle) and dropping us nicely into the Applecross Inn for lunch. From there we had a night camping in the roof top tent on our Defender on the shore of Loch Sheildaig before heading into Glen Affric for 3 nights under the stars and getting back to nature! In we went with nothing but an axe, a tarp and a few dehydrated pouches of food. It was great to get back to working with wood to make our food, keep us warm and dry our clothes!
