From grey walls to grey floors, this moody neutral colour is not going anywhere fast. The vivid warming colours from your stove will pop out from the backdrop of a grey colour scheme, or a cast concrete feature wall. For a Scandinavian feel choose a grey with cooler blue tones in it, an icy touch that works with whites and pale woods. Don’t like the cold? Then go for some warm natural materials like ply cladding to compliment the grey, industrial feel. Here is some inspiration to help get that grey interior scheme just right!
1. Grey Walls & Patterned Fabrics
More of an aesthetic approach here, matching cool greys on the walls to more vibrant and complex grey patterns on key items such as throws, rugs and cushions. You could do this in a weekend! A Charnwood C-Five sits nicely in this fireplace here.
2. Concrete & Wood
Such a great look, works best with a Rais inset stove, you can choose from 1, 2 and even 3 sides of glass. In our opinion; well worth the time, effort and money to create a real unique feature in your home!
3. Grey Materials
A super industrial look this one, but why not go the whole way and incorporate your fire, staircase and feature wall all in one. The benefits to using a large concrete mass around your stove are as the fire burns, some of the heat produced is stored in the concrete and released later on in the day as the temperature drops. You could even have an open fire for a real back to basics approach!
4. Grey Feature Chimney Breast
Either creating a fake chimney breast, or upgrading your existing one with some cladding can make all the difference at home. Vertical cladding gives off cabin vibes, and over time will age nicely. A more traditional Charnwood Island 1 works well with this look.
5. Grey Feature Wall
Why stop at just the chimney breast? Get the whole wall clad and painted a cool blue/grey. Paired with light wood floor boards, you have your very own Scandinavian style cabin. A Clearview 400P sits proudly in the corner, just giving a hint of it’s industrial background. Likewise, a Rais Rina would also compliment this space well.
